As we wrap up the year, December remains a slow month for the real estate market, much like every year when many are focused on holiday celebrations. I hope you had a chance to spend time with family and do things important to you.
Interestingly, despite the general slowdown, Coquitlam condos under $800k are seeing more activity than expected. Many properties with reasonable asking prices are selling in under 2 weeks, even during the middle of December – typically the slowest time of the year. Looking ahead, the upcoming market is hard to predict with so many unknown factors such as the inauguration of the new US president, interest rates, and government regulations. However, in general, there should be more listings and activity in the new year as people finish celebrating the holidays.
